Week 2 Sunday brought blowouts, two overtime thrillers, and a pair of upsets that reshuffled the early-season picture. Here are the fantasy studs, the duds, and the storylines that mattered, with the full scoreboard and live stats if you want the play-by-play.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Seattle. The receiver of the week, full stop. He torched Arizona for 9 catches, 155 yards, and three touchdowns, including an 82-yard strike from Drew Lock on the Seahawks' second play of the game. Seattle rolled 31-7.
Dak PrescottDak Prescott, QB, Dallas. 26 of 31 for 279 yards and four touchdowns in a 37-20 win over Washington. CeeDee Lamb was the biggest beneficiary, going for 8 catches, 153 yards, and two scores.
Patrick Mahomes, QB, Kansas City. 382 yards and three touchdowns to survive Indianapolis 33-30 in overtime. Travis Kelce added 9 catches for 101 yards and a score, and Kenneth Walker III ran 24 times for 117 yards. Jonathan Taylor nearly stole it for the Colts with two rushing touchdowns.
Brock Purdy, QB, San Francisco. A near-perfect 20 of 22 for 287 yards, two passing scores, and a rushing touchdown as the 49ers handled Miami 35-13. Christian McCaffrey punched in two short touchdowns.
Bryce Young, QB, Carolina. Three touchdown passes, two of them to Darren Waller, in a 34-3 rout of Atlanta. Tetairoa McMillan chipped in 5 catches for 101 yards.
Honorable mentions: Kirk Cousins threw three touchdowns for the Raiders in a 26-14 win, with Tre Tucker going for 5 catches, 119 yards, and a 40-yard score. DeVonta Smith caught 10 balls for 117 yards and a touchdown in Philadelphia's 24-20 escape against Tennessee. Jaylen Waddle piled up 8 grabs for 138 yards in Denver's 20-13 win over Jacksonville, and Jordan Love threw two touchdowns as Green Bay edged the Jets 20-17 in overtime.
Bijan Robinson, RB, Atlanta. Just 16 carries for 72 yards and no touchdown in a 34-3 beatdown. Cooper Rush threw two interceptions and the game script was gone by halftime.
Justin Jefferson, WR, Minnesota. Only 3 catches for 55 yards with Carson Wentz under center in an ugly 9-3 win over Chicago. Aaron Jones carried the load with 23 rushes for 105 yards.
Justin Herbert, QB, Los Angeles Chargers. Two interceptions and a stalled offense in the loss to the Raiders, wasting a strong day from Omarion Hampton, who ran 23 times for 94 yards and a score.
The Saints stunned the Ravens 24-17 in Baltimore, with Tyler Shough sneaking in the go-ahead score late and Chris Olave catching 8 balls for 86 yards and a touchdown. The Browns pulled one off too, beating Tampa Bay 23-19 behind two Deshaun Watson touchdowns and a 55-yard scoring catch from Denzel Boston. And the Colts pushed the Chiefs to overtime before falling by a field goal.
Two quarterback absences swung games. With Sam Darnold out, backup Drew Lock threw three touchdowns for Seattle. Kyler Murray sat with a concussion, and Arizona managed just 7 points. In Houston, Nico Collins missed the game and the Texans scored only 6 despite C.J. Stroud throwing for 353 yards, as Ja'Marr Chase and Cincinnati cruised to a 20-6 win.
Early-season passing games are eating, and the Cowboys and Seahawks look like weekly problems on offense. On the waiver front, Denzel Boston, Tre Tucker, and TreVeyon Henderson, who broke a 39-yard scoring run in New England's win, are worth a look.
