Week 2 is in the books and waivers run tonight. This is the week the early-season picture starts to firm up: two injuries opened clear paths to touches, and one running back quietly handled a full workload. Here are the adds worth spending on, ranked by how much of your budget they deserve. Our live waiver wire tracks the most-added players all week if you want the raw list.
Emanuel Wilson, RB, Seattle. The most-added player in fantasy football right now, and it is not close. Wilson handled 21 carries for 92 yards in Seattle's 31-7 win over Arizona. Twenty-one carries is not a committee, it is a job. Volume like that at running back is the single most valuable thing available on any waiver wire, and Seattle just won by 24 with him carrying the load. FAAB: 30 to 45 percent. This is the one to actually spend on.
Tre Tucker, WR, Las Vegas. Five catches for 119 yards and a 40-yard touchdown in the Raiders' 26-14 win, in a game where Kirk Cousins threw three touchdown passes. The big-play role is real, and Cousins has clearly found him. FAAB: 15 to 20 percent.
Terrance Ferguson, TE, Los Angeles Rams. Worth a second look after Monday night. Ferguson caught 6 of 9 targets for 54 yards and a touchdown in the Rams' 28-6 win over the Giants. That is a genuine target share in an offense where Matthew Stafford just threw for 327 yards and four scores. Tight end is thin enough that nine targets matters. FAAB: 10 to 15 percent.
Darren Waller, TE, Carolina. Two touchdown catches from Bryce Young in a 34-3 rout of Atlanta. Waller is a touchdown-or-nothing play at this stage of his career, but the connection with Young is worth owning at a position this barren. FAAB: 8 to 12 percent.
Two Sunday injuries created the clearest openings on the wire.
Tank Bigsby, RB, Philadelphia. Saquon Barkley left Sunday's game with a stinger, and Bigsby punched in a 2-yard touchdown in the same game. If Barkley misses time, Bigsby inherits one of the most valuable backfields in football. That is a lottery ticket worth paying for. FAAB: 15 to 25 percent, more if Barkley's status worsens this week.
Zach Ertz, TE, Philadelphia. Dallas Goedert left Sunday with a knee injury. Ertz is the direct beneficiary if Goedert misses time, and he has been a productive starting tight end as recently as last season. FAAB: 8 to 12 percent, and only if you need a tight end.
The rule that keeps managers out of trouble: pay up for workload, not for one loud box score. Emanuel Wilson's 21 carries and Bigsby's potential path to a bell-cow role are worth real money. A 55-yard touchdown from a receiver who caught five passes is worth a dollar or two, not twenty percent of your budget. And never carry a large unused FAAB balance into the fantasy playoffs, because the pickup that wins you a title usually shows up in November.
Spend on Emanuel Wilson, take a real swing at Tank Bigsby if Barkley's stinger lingers, and fill out the back of your roster with Tucker and a tight end. Then check the defense matchups before you set Week 3 lineups, settle your closest calls with the start/sit analyzer, and see who else the field is moving on at trending players.
